Jerald (“Jerry”) Winetroub is the sole proprietor of the Jerald Winetroub Company. Born and raised in Austin, Texas, he graduated from Texas State University in 1971 with a degree in finance and immediately entered the real estate brokerage business.

In 1975 Winetroub struck out on his own, creating a boutique firm that specialized in investment-grade real estate. His work ethic and business philosophy went beyond the typical brokerage role from day one, and still does so today.

During the last three decades Winetroub’s work as a commercial real estate broker and land developer has helped shape the rapidly changing face of Austin. He has been involved in multi-family, industrial, office and retail projects, and has guided a long string of successful transactions for some of the city’s most prominent developments.

Winetroub’s influence in Central Texas has extended beyond the business arena and into the community. He has played a key role with several of the city’s professional business, civic and non-profit groups, including Austin’s nationally recognized Hill Country Conservancy. As co-founder, he helped bring the Austin business and real estate community together with the city’s local environmentalists to forge an organization that purchases land and/or conservation easements in environmentally sensitive areas. He also served as president for the group in 2005.

More recently, Winetroub joined the City of Austin’s volunteer Comprehensive Plan Citizens Advisory Task Force. Serving as a member of the Task Force’s Steering Committee, he is assisting the city’s “Imagine Austin” project that seeks to develop a new Comprehensive Plan for Austin’s future growth and development.

In addition, he was a member and past president (2001) of the Real Estate Council of Austin and a member of the Austin Area Research Organization. Winetroub is also active in the Austin Chamber of Commerce, the Headliners Club and Austin Golf Club.

A lifelong resident of Austin, Winetroub lives in the city with his wife, Sandra, and has five grown children.
